How to keep a HonkIP name pointing at your home, for 23 routers, NAS boxes and computers.
acme.sh
Get a free HTTPS certificate for yourname.honkip.com and everything under it with acme.sh.
1. Save the HonkIP plugin for acme.sh:
cat > ~/.acme.sh/dnsapi/dns_honkip.sh <<'EOF'
#!/usr/bin/env sh
dns_honkip_add() {
_get "https://update.honkip.com/update?key=${HONKIP_Key}&hostname=$1&txt=$2" >/dev/null
}
dns_honkip_rm() {
_get "https://update.honkip.com/update?key=${HONKIP_Key}&hostname=$1&txt=$2&clear=true" >/dev/null
}
EOF
2. Ask for the certificate:
HONKIP_Key='YOUR-KEY' acme.sh --issue --dns dns_honkip -d yourname.honkip.com -d '*.yourname.honkip.com'
acme.sh remembers your key and renews the certificate by itself.
