Reach your home from anywhere

Your router tells us when the address changes, and the name follows within a minute.

1. Pick your free name. Something like smith.honkip.com. It's yours for as long as you use it, with no monthly click to keep it.
2. Tell your router about it. We have step-by-step guides for FRITZ!Box, UniFi, MikroTik, pfSense, OpenWrt, Synology, QNAP, Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi and more, with your key already filled in. Or link your home network with one click.
3. Type your name from anywhere. On your phone, at work or on holiday, your name goes to your home.

• No confirming every month. Some free services delete your name unless you log in and click every 30 days. We don't.
• Your own domain in minutes. Use smithfamily.com instead of smith.honkip.com: link one you already own, or buy one here and it just works.
• Names for everything at home. cameras.smith.honkip.com, photos.smith.honkip.com, each pointing home.
• IPv6 as well as IPv4, and an email if your router stops checking in.

Is the free plan really free?

Yes. One name, no card, no expiry. Paid plans are for people who want more names or their own domain.

Will it work with my router?

Most routers that let you type a Dynamic DNS server work. If yours only lists other companies, a PC, NAS or Raspberry Pi at home can do the job instead. See Help.

Does HonkIP see my internet traffic?

No. We only keep your home's address so your name can find it. Your traffic goes straight to your home, never through us.

Can I cancel?

Any time. You keep your free home name.
