Router can't use HTTPS: what to do
Some older routers can't make secure (HTTPS) connections. HonkIP still works with them.
- In the router's Dynamic DNS settings, turn the HTTPS or SSL option off and keep the same server, hostname and key.
- If the router uses an update link, start it with http:// instead of https://.
Plain HTTP only works for sending your address. Everything else on HonkIP stays on HTTPS. It's a little less private, because your key travels unscrambled, so use HTTPS whenever the router supports it, and make a new key if you ever move to a router that does.
