Which device should keep my name updated?

One thing at home needs to tell HonkIP when your address changes. Pick whichever is easiest:

• Your router is the best choice when it has a Dynamic DNS setting where you can type a server. It's always on and sees the address first. See Set up any router.
• A NAS (Synology, QNAP) is a good second choice: it's usually on all the time. See Synology or QNAP.
• A Raspberry Pi or home server works well with one line of setup. See Mac, Linux and Raspberry Pi.
• A Windows PC works if it's on most of the time. The HonkIP app sits by the clock. See Windows PC.

Only set up one. Two devices doing the same job is fine, but not needed.
